Los Angeles based producer, engineer, writer and multi-instrumentalist James Sáez has worked on hundreds of recordings during his 25 years in the music industry including numerous gold, platinum, and Grammy winning records.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music, James served as a staff engineer at the world renowned Record Plant recording studio, as well as working for legendary mixer Bob Clearmountain. During this time James worked in the studio with such diverse artists as Madonna, Nine Inch Nails, Rufus Wainright, Michael Jackson, System Of A Down, LL Cool J, Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Social Distortion, Prince and many others. James performed engineering duties on Mary Chapin Carpenter’s "Stones In The Road" which was honored with 2 Grammy awards; and also served as 2nd engineer on No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom,” which recieved 4 Grammy nominations and sold over 16 million copies.

With his initial success James made the decision to become independent and began producing records for various artists including Social Distortion, Zeromancer, The Road Kings and 2 solo albums with SD frontman, Mike Ness. While producing he continued engineering and mixing numorous artists like Weezer’s Matt Sharp and Earth Wind And Fire’s Philip Baily as well as touring as the guitar player for Porno for Pyros. His most recent projects have included engineering and mixing for some of the most highly acclaimed artists in music, including Neil Young, Bette Midler, Jimmy Page, Ringo Starr, Ivan Neville, Bernard Fowler, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others.

In 2000 James became the owner and president of The Audio Labs production house which has been involved in the creative process of nearly every major Warner Music Group release over last 12 years, His engineering and editing skills have contributed to releases from a variety of artists including Linkin Park, Green Day, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, My Chemical Romance, John Coltrane, Ray Charles, Muse, Metallica, Seal, Oasis, Faith Hill, Frank Sinatra, The White Stripes, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Jay Z, Radiohead, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Regina Spektor, Eric Clapton, Deftones, The Flaming lips, The Doors, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin and hundreds of others.

He has worked on soundtracks for films such as Harry Potter, Orange County, Transformers, Superman Returns, Juno, Waiting To Exhale, Corrina Corrina, Batman The Dark Night and with comedy artists like Jeff Foxworthy, Katt Williams, Bill Engvall, Martin Short, Eddie Griffen and Richard Pryor. James’ passion for music has enabled him to tour all over the world playing in studios and on the road with bands like Perry Farrell's Porno for Pyros, Alice Cooper, Zeromancer, Mike Ness, Social Distortion and many others. Besides having an extensive vintage guitar collection, his love and knowledge of musical instruments has led to a role as a artist relations consultant for the Gibson Guitar Company.
